BACKLACE

A new jewelry trend, can it be? Both Best Supporting Actress winner, Anne Hathaway and Best Actress Winner, Jennifer Lawrence wore a backlace - necklace down their back to Sunday night's Academy Awards. Both are styled by Rachel Zoe. Do you think she is making a push for the backlace? Maybe it is a key component to her next collection? While we think Jennifer looks breathtaking in simple Chopard diamonds, the Tiffany & Co. backlace doesn't sit right on Anne. We just don't get it. What do you think?

BEST BAUBLES: GRAMMYS

While I might not always agree with her choice of men; I am coveting Rihanna's rings from last night's Grammy awards. While individually they are all pretty, together they create a look that is unique and fit for a pop princess. And the ring above her knuckle - that is genius! I guess Neil Lane is one man we can both agree on.

A SNOWY INSPIRATION

With nonstop chatter about the current storm, we are inspired to adorn ourselves in winter white. And, what better way to glisten alongside the snowflakes than with these 'moon drop earrings' by Kanupriya. The Kanupriya jewelry line showcases modern looks with vintage vibes, and mixes classic shapes and contemporary design - creating the perfect balance between elegant and edgy. These white agate jewels are simple yet sophisticated, and will allow you to beautifully glow your way through the blizzard-like conditions.

SHOPPING AND DRINKING

This week I drank wine and shopped my heart out at a stella & dot party. My favorite part was engaging with the 'stylist' and helping her sell pieces to my friends by throwing out  tidbits such as "That piece is so Lorraine Schwartz on Mena Suvari as seen on the SAG awards red carpet." It was super fun and I felt totally like the Jewel Devotee. After a few glasses, I left with the this luna triple wrap bracelet. Made of woven faceted glass beads in white bronze and satin gold finishes, I am psyched to wear it day or night. It also can be worn as a necklace. So fun!

NECKING AT THE SAGS

It has been so long since we have seen a bevy of beauties wear a diamond necklace on the red carpet. At the Screen Actor's Guild awards four leading ladies had diamonds around their necks. Jennifer Lawrence wore a diamond lariat by Chopard. Helen Hunt's Neil Lane choker had us applauding. The Chopard diamonds around Marion Cotillard's neck were stunning and Jessica Chastain's Harry Winston fringed showstopper made us weak in the knees. We are so glad glamour has found its way back to the red carpet.

WRAP UP THE GREEN ONE

Because of our love for trends, we were looking for an everyday chic piece that showed the world we really rock the color of the season. That's when we came across the Rivington wrap bracelet from Ashlar. The adjustable silk wrap is 37" and comes in so many beautiful colors. The natural semiprecious stone also adds a small touch of uniqueness and chicness. Ashlar baubles are original and totally in style! So purchase, and then wrap up that green bracelet.

BEST BAUBLES: GOLDEN GLOBES

Julianne Moore is a fashionista through and through. She isn't afraid to take risks and has Tom Ford on speed dial, lucky girl. When we first saw this look our eyes popped. Everyone was saying black and white was going to be the trend of the night but the only person who wore both was Golden Globe winner, Moore.  While the dress was simply gorgeous on its own, the Bulgari gems added to the look. Diamond and yellow gold chandelier earrings and the Serpenti gold bracelet were perfection.  This outfit is a game changer.

WOOING CARRIE

Ever since Gossip Girl went off the air last month, there has been a fashion void in my life. I mean only Blair Waldorf could single handedly bring back the headband. But an old friend is coming back to town. None other than Miss Carrie Bradshaw (granted the show does take place in 1984 but we are expecting huge things). See how the fictional fashion icon became the woman we all rooted for. Her choices were sometimes suspect both in the bedroom and her men but that is what made her relatable. While we may or may not miss the Carrie necklace, we dig that young Carrie will be wearing a gold C by Alex Woo throughout the first season. Watch the Carrie Diaries on Monday, January 14 at 8pm.

HOT BUT NOT HEAVY

Super long gold danglers are a major trend right now. Just check out Leslie Mann's jeweled look at her recent 'This is 40' premiere. Super chic vibe that screams skinny and sexy. And to confirm, though the look is bold, the weight of these earrings is not heavy at all! We suggest stopping by Barney's for a pair of gold long dome drop earrings my Jennifer Meyer. Simply stunning!

BROOCH THE MATTER

Tis the season. Our social calendar is full but our wardrobe is making us feel ba humbug. What we need is a little sparkle. Hello Marni brooch. Wearing a blazer, pin it to your lapel; have a simple belt - put it on. There are so many options. Blake Lively recently placed a brooch by her plunging neckline. We often forget about the brooch but it is such a versatile jewel. This number will make us feel like the life of the party.

SPARKLE FOR RELIEF

Living, working, and loving in lower Manhattan has been interesting since that b*tch Sandy came to town. While my home is in tact my community is hurting. That is why we are so excited by Sparkle for Sandy Relief. Over 85 jewelers are participating in this auction; donating 100% of proceeds. It is live from November 27-December 6 and benefits the Relief Initiative. Participants include Temple St. Clair, Todd Reed, Miguel Ases, Jemma Wynne and so many others. What is better than baubles for a cause? While so many people are hurting, searching for answers and a place to live at least there is a little bit of sparkle on the horizon.

BELLE OF THE BALL

It has been way too long and for that I apologize. Between Sandy and the holidays - whatever - no excuses. I finally have been brought back to reality by this over the top, furthest thing from reality crystal mask by BCBG. Where would I wear it? A fabulous mascarade party(thanks Vogue), a fun night out with my girlfriends, a bachelorette party, a princess party for my not yet conceived daughter, or a fun night at home with my hubby. I guess Halloween too but that is so cliche. Whatever the reason, this mask pretty much guarantees a good night.

PRETTY IN PINK AND YELLOW

If you could wear any jewels on your wedding day what would it be? We both wore fabulous white diamond earrings and bracelets but Mrs. Timberlake went a different route. She picked these pale yellow diamond pear shape drops with pink diamonds surround set in rose gold by Martin Katz. They were an unexpected but gorgeous choice as was her wedding gown. They complement each other beautifully, just like the newlyweds. We have been lucky enough to meet the new Mrs. Timberlake and she is even more beautiful in person. Justin is a lucky guy.

LOVING LELE

How many baubles do you have from J. Crew, Anthropologie, and Banana Republic? If you are anything like us, you have too many to count. The genius behind these jewels has gone out on her own and we couldn't be happier. Lele Sadoughi deserves to have her name known as she is a brilliant jewelry designer whose baubles are interesting, fashionable, and affordable. Travel, art, genuine stones and painted enamel are the foundation of her pieces. Her latest collection is inspired by Egypt both past and present. One of our favorite pieces is the Aegean blue Scarab bracelet. Check out Lele because this girl is going places!

HALLOWEEN INSPIRED

Halloween is approaching. And while everyone is breaking out their costume, our search was on for holiday inspired jewels. That is when we were introduced to The Clear Factor Ring by Graziela. With rutilated quartz set in rock crystal, this natural gemstone is the season's perfect adornment. Just like Kate Hudson, Camila Alves and Zoe Saldana; get in the spirit and be a Graziela fan on the 31st and beyond.

DOWN THE AISLE

It is bridal week in NYC and while we are no longer in the market for a dress or a husband, we still get weak in the knees when we see a beautiful white dress walking down the aisle. This Jenny Packham creation is sweet and super romantic. While we love the dress, knowing us we dream of jewels. We would pair this beauty with a pair of Noir crystal earrings. They add a little edge and a ton of sophistication. We hear wedding bells ringing!

CHANEL AT 80

How do you celebrate 80 years of diamonds? With a party of course. Chanel Fine Jewelry turns 80 this year and we couldn't be more excited. Have you seen this incredible diamond star necklace? We never thought one necklace could consist of long strands, tassels, and a choker but...the house of Coco succeeds in achieving the impossible. Tuesday night's star studded affair featured Blake Lively, January Jones, Rose Bryne, and Alexa Chung. Some girls have all the luck.

BEST BAUBLES: EMMY AWARDS

The red carpet is our favorite place. Gorgeous gowns, flawless hair, and of course dazzling diamonds. To be honest, this year's Emmy red carpet left us wanting more, much more. The mani-cam gave us a close up shot of the star's rings but snooze, no one was prepared. Our shining star through the sea of drab was Morena Baccarin star of Showtime's success Homeland. Morena looked like a sex siren and her David Webb diamond and crystal earrings were the perfect accessory. While we are surprised that we don't see Mr. Webb on the red carpet more often, we are sure that will change.

FIT FOR A QUEEN

Some people i.e. my husband, sister, mom, and dad have called me a princess. Unfortunately I don't think they meant it as a complement. Well if we are gong to be calling one another names, I only think it is fair that I have a tiara fit for a queen. That is where this Chaumet tiara comes in. Hello gorgeous. Diamonds, rubies and opals galore make up this incredible headpiece. The pendants on the side come off to make a dazzling pair of earrings. Of course they do. Chaumet has been in business in France since the 1700s and have outfitted members of the French monarchy. Wear this tiara and people will bow when you walk by.

AND ON AND ON AND ON

Officially, the summer is over. Labor Day has come and gone and the crisp fall air feels good as my boys hit the gridiron. But wait...nothing says summer like seasheels right? And this Anndra Neen necklace made with an iridescent shell is making me swoon. This piece transcends seasons. Phoebe and Annette Stephens, designers of Anndra Neen combine elements of Mexico City (their hometown), NYC (where they have established an atelier), and a futuristic vibe to create interesting jewels. The line is already a favorite of editors and celebrities. Now it is one of yours as well.

EMERALD CITY

We love seeing something interesting and different and this ring by Anna Hu fits the bill. The large emerald cut emeralds are breathtaking. And everything is better when surrounded by diamonds! But to us the real masterpiece is the scale of this ring - it encompasses multiple fingers. The pear shape drop emeralds and diamonds are incredible. We love how Anna Hu (a favorite of Gwyneth) takes risks and has fun with fine jewelry. It is so rare especially when the price tag is six figures. But that is why we love her!

UP ALL NIGHT

Big-time necklaces with animal adornments are all the rage. Just take note from Beyonce to Blake Lively, who have recently rocked bold/beautiful birds. Though chic, we are in love with this owl as opposed to their eagle. Created by Margaret Elizabeth, the amazing one-of-a-kind vintage brooch necklace is set with onyx beads and screams stay out late & up late flaunting your look. The designer believes style is innate, but saucy accessories make the ensemble. And, this midnight owl jewel will definitely give you a fluttering and flattering look!

NOTHING SMALL ABOUT IT

As the summer is winding down, I want one last "Prince Harry" weekend. You know, when you go balls to the wall without a care in the world? To me, nothing is sexier than a plunging neckline with a fabulous necklace in my decolletage to bring attention to my best assets. I am lusting after this raw gemstone show-stopper by Pippa Small. The gems are generous in size and will look almost as good in the fall as it does poolside. Pippa's jewelry tells stories and we like what we hear.

DECO DARLING

Loving jewelry the way that we do, it is hard to find people who can relate. Don't get us wrong, we love a fierce pair of Louboutins and  a Chanel bag as much as the next girl but our hearts belong to baubles. Who else loves jewelry more than anything else? Rachel Zoe. The uber-stylist has created a new jewelry collection that recently landed in Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. These fashion pieces are ba-na-nas. The Art Deco inspired pieces will look amazing with most outfits including the 70s glam that Zoe prefers. Taking designing to new levels, Zoe created an impressive collection. We would happy rock them all.

BOLD IS BACK

We just love uber accessorized fashionistas, and that's why we went gaga over Jessica Biel's Tom Binns bauble look at the LA premiere of "Total Recall". Usually a statement necklace calls for minimal studs, but not on Jess. She completely pulled off these pearl and diamond drop earrings. Bold jewels are back, and we couldn't be happier.

AND THE WINNER IS...

Even though it's all about taking home gold medals, we would personally prefer the newest addition to the Jemily Idrissa collection. This bold, statement piece in 18k gold is set with diamonds and a cabochon Ceylon sapphire. And, you just have to appreciate such sophisticated design. The underside is slightly curved to match the natural finger curve, making it extremely comfortable to wear. Designer, Catherine Marion, is known for offering collections of the highest quality fine jewelry, gold-craftsmanship and exquisite use of truly beautiful gemstones. Jemily, based on our criteria, you've won the gold!

GRILLING

As the daughter of one of the most respected dentists in New Jersey, I love Ryan Lochte and his grill. All of the individuals preforming at the London Games are serious and accomplished athletes; yet we know so little about their personalities. That is where Ryan comes in. Devilishly handsome, Ryan is a fish in the water but he knows not to take himself too seriously. His red, white, and blue grill makes his gorgeous smile even more radiant. While I don't think I could pull off the bling-y smile, I love that he goes for it! We can't wait to see what you do next.

FLOWER CHILD OF THE 1980s

I have a thing for vintage jewels; always making up tales about the extremely chic previous owner. When I ask my favorite fashionistas about their jewels - most are rocking vintage gems. This vintage Yves Saint Laurent flower choker from the 1980s has my heart racing. Found via our friends at Moda Operandi and Kerry'O, this showstopper slips on via hinged flowers. It is so sleek yet feminine. I love everything about this piece except that I can't get it until August 2013. Now that is making my petals wilt.

WELL ADVISED

The only thing I love more than jewelry is love. I have set people up (1 couple is married), reading love stories, and hearing every detail about a couple's road to happiness. So it is no surprise that I am obsessed with Bravo's Miss Advised. For those who don't watch, we follow a matchmaker, dating columnist, and sex expert in their own quest for love. When they do fall head over heals, I think I have found their perfect engagement rings!

For Amy, the NYC matchmaker, an asscher cut showstopper from Royal Asscher is her ring. Honestly, if this ring is not at least 4 carats, it is not worth wearing. This botox loving lady will love the size and simplicity of this ring.

Julia is always searching for her prince charming. This oval cut micropave ring from Harry Winston will remind her of her quest for her beloved and her happily ever after.

For sex expert Emily, we need something untraditional. That is why I love the Diamond in the Rough. Unexpected but still a diamond; proving that even the girl who didn't think monogamy was for her can fall in love!

LUCKY FLUORESCENT FIND

Our obsession with this summer's neon trend is only part of the reason we've fallen for Lucky Penny Necklaces from Ravishing Jewelry. The designer of the brand, Danielle Weitzler, has created an imaginative, sassy and inspirational jewelry line spreading sparkle one person at a time. For these necklace designs, Danielle places pennies in a bowl with lucky stones so they absorb the healing power of gems. To name a few -- green agate is for luck in protection, and rose quartz stands for luck in love. The coolest part is that you can have your penny pendant personalized and hand-stamped with 'lucky' in your language of choice, and even add your name or initials to make it your own. Fun fashionable gals adorning these designs have truly lucked out!
